On the anniversary of our 2020 launch event, we would like to invite you and members of your maternity and neonatal teams to our next Maternity and Neonatal Safety Improvement Programme Patient Safety Network to continue to explore the care bundle for the optimisation and stabilisation of the pre-term infant.
The work contributes to two national ambitions:
- to reduce the rates of maternal and neonatal deaths, stillbirths and brain injuries that occur during or soon after birth by 50% by 2025
- to reduce the national rate of pre-term births from 8% to 6%
This event will provide the opportunity to understand some of the key contributory factors to reducing these rates and to learn from changes your colleagues have implemented which had led to measurable improvements. As part of the mini-collaborative there will be opportunities for additional members of your team to learn more about Quality Improvement and work with North West colleagues to address some of the key barriers to support women and families.
