A regular in our events calendar. This year it seems more important than ever to hear from our panel of experts on their analysis of the economic challenges of the global pandemic and what this will mean for the UK's public sector over the next 3-5 years. The pandemic has highlighted insufficient support for prevention and early intervention services and an over centralised delivery of public services with a lack of integration and an inability and unwillingness to share data. There have also however been a number of innovations over the past 2 years which have really sought to address these issues and focus upon addressing inequalities.
This year our panel of experts focused on the hidden costs of the pandemic, exploring the socioeconomic impacts which are hitting vulnerable and marginalised groups particularly hard and how the public sector can step up to support communities in need. Without sufficient resources to protect themselves from health risks, or pay for essential goods, many people find themselves in precarious situations.
This masterclass is essential to take stock on where we are across health, social care and local government and the human resilience that will no doubt be needed in a time that is already marked by huge inequities as we build back better.

- Chris Hopson, Chief Executive - NHS Providers
- Anita Charlesworth, Director of Research & Economics - The Health Foundation
