Polypharmacy programme launches in the North West Coast
Polypharmacy refers to the use of multiple medications with a 'polypharmacy patient' described as someone who has been prescribed and is taking multiple medications for a variety of conditions.
Ensuring the effectiveness of medication is the reason why the North West Coast is supporting a new programme launched by the AHSN’s Network, Polypharmacy: Getting the Balance Right Programme.
We launch on 5th July and have arranged a range of key speakers to join us on a free webinar.
Alongside a member of the National Polypharmacy Team who will set out the national programme, we’ll also be joined by several top regional guests including Gareth Malson, Lead Network Pharmacist at Chester East PCN and a GP Pharmacy Ambassador, Dula Alićehajić-Bečić, Consultant Pharmacist for Frailty at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust and Jane Shanahan, Senior Medicines Optimisation Care Home Pharmacy Technician at East Lancashire.
